Red Class
In Red Class this week we are starting our new topic on plants and growing. Before half term we learned the stories The Enormous Turnip and The Enormous Watermelon.
We have enjoyed retelling these stories and acting them out in our role play area which was set up as a vegetable garden and kitchen.
Our role play area has now changed to a shop and we are enjoying buying and selling all different kinds of fruit and vegetables. We painted pictures to decorate the area.
We are looking forward to learning about plants and what they need to grow and are going to be planting some seeds and watching them grow.
In P.E. we have been enjoying using the parachute to play games. We have played Cat and Mouse, made people spin by wrapping them up and pulling the parachute and have even made ourselves invisible by throwing the parachute up and sitting on the edges to make a dome! This week we have started to practise our throwing and catching skills and played games in teams to see who could get most beanbags in a hoop. We have already improved and we are excited to keep practising.
This week we have also been talking about what we like about school and who our friends are. We all have lots of friends in Red Class as well as in other classes in the school. We enjoy playing different games with our friends and we all try our hardest to make Red Class a happy place to be. We all worked really hard together on the Friday before half term to build a snowman called 'Snowy' and we had great fun doing it !!!
