Blue Class
Over this half term Blue Class have been learning three traditional stories: The 3 Billy Goats Gruff, Goldilocks and the 3 bears and the Enormous Turnip. We have been learning to use our sounds to retell the stories. It was quite tricky at first but we now think about writing all the sounds that we hear, leaving a space between our words and remembering to show we have finished our writing with a full stop.
One of our favourite writing tasks was to make up our own version of the Enormous Turnip.
' One of my books got stuck on the shelf. Mummy pulled it so did Katie. Steve pulled it. It popped out'- Lewis
'My boot is stuck. Mrs Piper pulled it. Zac pulled it. It came off' - Bradley-James
We made lots of different bridges for the billy goats to cross. We really liked it when we used hammers, real saws and real drills and worked with wood. We listened carefully to the instructions to stay safe.
We acted out the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears. We enjoyed talking in lots of different voices to show which bear we were and we LOVED screaming when Goldilocks was woken up by the bears! We all tasted different types of porridge. everybody liked one of the flavours. We made a graph of our favourite flavour - most children liked plain porridge.
In maths we have also been measuring. We looked all over school to find objects of different lengths, we even tried to measure with a ruler but it wasn't easy.
We have been practising working together using our skills to try and solve problems. It is not always easy and if we don't listen to each other or ask the right question we sometimes fall out so we have also been learning how to sort out differences!
